Carina is an Associate at Jillian M. Siskind & Associates. She is known for her professionalism and excellent work ethic.

Carina completed her articles with a regulator under Jillian’s supervision, following which, Carina became the firm’s first associate in 2017. Carina then managed the Authorized Nominating Authority under Ontario’s Construction Act, where she mentored adjudicators and administered construction adjudications in Ontario.

Carina has gained invaluable insights into the operations of regulators and construction companies. She works with her clients to resolve legal issues while remaining sensitive to corporate needs and objectives.

Carina is connected with a network of mediators, arbitrators and adjudicators, and she works with her clients to find creative and cost-effective resolution for litigation matters.

Carina has worked closely with construction adjudicators, which provides her with valuable insight into the decision-making process of adjudicators and the types of arguments and evidence required to make compelling legal arguments in construction disputes.

Privacy, Access to Information and Data Protection

Carina advises clients on privacy matters. She has reviewed and drafted privacy policies to ensure that they comply with privacy legislation and contractual requirements. She has experience responding to access to information requests.

 
 

Community Involvement and Education

Carina was a student caseworker at two community legal clinics in Toronto. She advised vulnerable individuals on issues of social assistance, disability benefits, violence against women and mental health.

Carina graduated from York University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Health Sciences, Honours in Health Policy and from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2016 with a JD. Carina was called to the bar of Ontario in 2017. In 2019, Carina completed a certificate in Construction Law from Osgoode Hall Law School.

Carina is fluent in English and Spanish. She has a working knowledge of French.
